My name is Paul Olsson. I live in the city of Örebro in the middle part of Sweden, but I grew up in Själevad in the north of Sweden. Almost all my relatives are descended from the adjacent parish Anundsjö. You can see on the map where the parishes are situated.

I have been a genealogist for a couple of years. In the beginning I started to search for my own ancestors, but as I got in contact with other genealogists, we started to detect ancestors for all people who lived in the parishes Anundsjö, Sidensjö and Skorped during 1535 to 1900 (1895 for Anundsjö). The work has resulted in two books, as you can see in the links called Anundsjö-boken and Sidensjö/Skorped-boken.

The books give an account of farmers, soldiers and priests but not of workers and crofters. However, in my database all professions are accounted.

We have also published supplements containing additions and corrections since the books were released.

It is possible (and easy) to construct a family tree by using the books, witch content the years for births, deaths, marriages and possession of property as well as parents for must of the persons. With a short instruction the books can be used without knowing the Swedish language. Just click on a self made glossary or a dictionary to translate. I can provide a contact with the sellers (the society of native place), so please let me know if you are interested in bying the books.

Näs 5:1 (a farm in Anundsjö on side 215)

Sackris Ersson was consequently farmer on the farm Näs 5:1 in Anundsjö parish 1773 - 1799.

He was born on the farm Näs 5:1 during his parents possession time. The year 1742 we can find Erick Christophersson (Kristoffersson) and Ingeborg Swensdotter as farmers and they were Sackris parents.

His wife Cherstin Swensdr was born on the farm Österfannbyn 1:1, but the parenthesis mean that her parents not were farmers the year their daughter was born, they were farmers earlier or later. Her parents were, as you can se in the book, Swen Swensson and Cherstin Olofsdr (side 357). In the same way, Margareta Pehrsdr was born on the farm Näs 4:1 and her parents were Pehr Swensson and Anna Olsdotter.

A number in the columns "from" and "to" means that the family moved from/to village nr x (side 12) or for instance "Sj", which means that they moved from/to Själevad parish (side 12) and can be found there.

In Sweden this time the children became a surname, witch contented the fathers Christian name followed by -son or -dotter (daughter). For instance, Erich Kristofferssons son Erik became the last name Eriksson and his daughter Eriksdotter. This can be a support when you are surching for parents on the farms.
